Brentwood and Ongar Constituency covers seven wards as part of the Epping Forest District Council and all fifteen wards in Brentwood Borough Council.
These are the seven Epping Forest District Council wards surrounding Ongar:

- High Ongar, Willingale and The Rodings

- Moreton and Fyfield
- North Weald Bassett
- Passingford
- Shelley
There are also parish and town councils in this area – Labour is represented in two Ongar town council wards where councillors were elected unopposed.
Results May 2023
Labour came second in all four wards in the Epping Forest District. Tom Acornley, from a standing start in March made excellent progress in Shelley ward. Boundaries change next year, but the strong showing in Chipping Ongar, Greensted and Marden Ash and in Shelley suggest good prospects for next year’s all-up election.

Ron Huish
Ron is a retired railway worker who was employed as a rolling stock technician and train first-aider for British Rail and the London Underground and lives in Ongar Town. He feels strongly that the current government is not delivering for local people and that the local council must be more effective, particularly in the context of the disruption caused by Ride London.

Alison has lived in Ongar since 1995 and worked for London Boroughs finishing as Manager of a Day Centre with Hackney Council.
She is a former town councillor in Ongar and is very involved with community affairs regarding planning, housing, Open Spaces and the environment throughout Epping Forest District.

Since his accident Tom realised he was not listened to and didn’t feel anyone represents him nationally or locally. Diana is an experienced former Ongar Town Councillor and leader of the council. Returning to politics, she is keen to make the Ongar Town Council serve the interests of its residents more effectively.
